How will I feel the next day?
You should feel fine and be able to have a normal day. You may have some discomfort depending on the procedures you have done. If you are in pain, please call our office so we can help you. We may need you to come back to the office for an adjustment.

I’m not sedated enough because I know what is going on. Is that ok?
Yes, that is fine. You may know what is going on during the procedure, but most people don’t remember everything from their appointment. That is the beauty of Conscious Sedation, you are able to be sedated and yet also be aware of what is going on around you.

Why do I need someone to stay with me even though I feel fine?
You need someone to stay with you because you may feel fine, but in reality, you are not fine. We have had a patient put a muffler system on their car the night of their appointment and then wake the next morning asking who took care of it for him. Because of the effects of triazolam, you may not remember to take medication, may not be capable of going up and down stairs by yourself, and will not be able to make conscious decisions.

Why do I need to not answer the phone or make important decisions?
For the same reason as described above. The effects of triazolam will allow you to make a decision, but not remember the conversation. We have had patients call us stating they booked vacations, made financial decisions they don’t remember, and work around the house and not remember. Please have someone stay with you and do not make any decisions on anything until 24 hours after your sedation appointment.

How come I remember everything from my Sedation appointment?
You actually won’t remember everything. You will remember bits and pieces of your appointment. The effects of the triazolam will make you think you remember the whole appointment instead of just a few minutes of your appointment.
